Is there a stomach bug going around right now? My kids seem to have caught something. Yesterday afternoon Natalie started throwing up and complaining of stomach pains. In the evening, Maddie joined her in her complaints, and I had two children vomiting and just plain miserable.

Last night, well, actually this morning at 5:00 Maddie came to my bedroom saying that she had wet the bed. For some reason she's been having a really hard time with that the last few weeks. So I changed the sheets and blankets and put her back to bed.

Ten minutes later, the dog starts yipping like mad and I got up to let him out. I think he knew I couldn't very well chase him through the neighbor's yard in just a t-shirt, because that is the very first thing he did. I grabbed a pair of pants and went after him. Apparently, the neighbor's garbage had bones in it, cause he came trotting back into our yard happy as a clam with a steak bone in his mouth! I thought briefly of shoving the bone down his little throat, but realized that I'd have to explain my homicidal actions to the kids in the morning, so I threw the bone into the garbage and locked him in his room. I went back to bed completely irritated.

About 20 minutes after that I woke up to Maddie screaming in her room. I thought it sounded like the very fires of hell must be after her! Turns out she had vomited all over her blanket, sheets, and pillow. Of course! I was exhausted and simply stripped the bed and put a blanket down for her to lay on, got her a fresh pillow and threw another blanket on top of her. You would have thought I would have laid her down on the finest sheets in the world she sounded so grateful. I felt bad for feeling so frustrated. So I gave her a hug and kiss and told her to go back to sleep. Which she did almost immediately. I made sure to get her a wastebasket in case she were to throw up yet again.

Then Natalie came to my room around 6am, but for the life of me, I cannot remember why!

Natalie returned to my room at 7:30 ready for mom to get up and make breakfast. Apparently she wasn't informed during the night that mommy hadn't slept very well. I tried to tell her that I would be up in a couple minutes, but she must have been so hungry that a few extra minutes would have had her positively STARVING to death. So I dragged my butt out of bed and made breakfast.

For some reason I got a burst of energy despite my lack of sleep. I washed the dishes, cleaned out a drawer in the kitchen and then reorganized one of my cupboards. All before Maddie crawled out of bed, soaking wet from yet another accident!

Wouldn't you know it?! Last night I went to bed only having to wash a load of delicates and the living room curtains. This morning I had added four large blankets, two sheets and half a ton of nasty stinky clothes! Figures!

We had planned on going to church this morning, but after last night and this morning, I didn't think it would be wise to take the kids to children's church. So I spent the rest of the morning cleaning up a bit more and then I showered and we ran some errands. Hubby stopped by at my sister's house to help my brother-in-law move a large entertainment center into the house. Then we went to the grocery store to pick up a few things for dinner tonight and tomorrow. This afternoon, one of Hubby's friend's from work came over and they plan on watching a wrestling Pay-Per-View tonight. So I will probably be in my room filing away papers and straightening up the area for when my sister-in-law and her husband come for a three day stay this next week.

~sigh~ I feel tired.
