Well, I am 38 weeks now and my blood pressure is not doing good.  I am on a medication every six hours and it is doing nothing but make me very dizzy and light headed.  I am worried because my Dr. is not acting like he wants to do anything this week and he is going out of town next week.  That stresses me because I have to have a C-section and I trust him to do surgery.  It would be really difficult for me to feel comfortable with another Dr.

I know this sounds odd, but did you check the medication your on to see if its safe for you while your pregnant.. sometimes doctors just give you a pill because it will make you feel better but they forget to see if you can or should be taking it while pregnant.. if you're getting dizzy that to me is a sign you shouldnt be taking it. at 38 weeks I would have to say that now would be the time to have the baby if your blood pressure is that much of an issue it might be causing other things.

keep your chin up hun

Jun. 2, 2008 at 4:09 AM How high is your B/P's running.  I had pre-e, and had to have Kailey 2 days shy of 36 weeks.  I was on blood pressure meds also.  I had to go to labor and delivery quite a few times to get my bloodpressure under control.  Kailey was also delivered by a "fill in"  and she did AWESOME!!!!!!!  It will all work out.  But don't hesitate to go to labor and delivery and get checked out.  Hugs, and congrats, you'll be holding your precious baby anytime!

Jun. 2, 2008 at 4:12 AM I just thought of something else, I remember the OB saying that she would not let me go past 37 weeks, now it could have been because of the placenta previa, and pre-e combined.. I dont' know.  37 weeks is term.

I had severe pre eclampsia with my last two pregnancies.  One baby I delivered at 32 weeks and my newest member was delivered at 28 weeks and they wanted to deliver him at 24 weeks.  Blood pressure is not to screw around with.

I was maxed out on meds for 5 weeks with my youngest baby and hospitalized for 5 weeks till Tucker was born.  They kept upping my doses.

If you are feeling dizzy it could be the meds BUT it could also be the blood pressure...If you feel like crap go to the ER. It sounds as if your doc is not really doing his job and is more concerned to go out of town than take care of his patient.

I was on labetalol, hctz aldamet and pain killers for my headaches...They were BAD.  It sounds as if you need to deliver and if your doc is just not doing what he needs to do...Like I said please go to the ER.  Blood pressure can do damage not only to you but the baby.  Don't wait till the doc comes back.  You should be in the hospital being monitored and or the baby needs to deliver.  Sorry I just had my Tucker 8 months a go and was sick for awhile4 after he was born because of the severity of the pre eclampsia.  I hope I helped and [please feel free to Pm me if you have any questions.  I can help you as best as I can...Good luck and congrats on the newest addition...
