A few weeks ago my stepson showed up with a mohawk.  We were absolutely horrified.  We pick him up this weekend & it seems to be green or something.  I believe it was dyed & now the dye is coming out.  At first we didn't want to be seen with him because it looks ridiculous.  Now my husband has nicknamed him squirrel.  It does kinda look like he has a squirrel on his head.  I personally think he is to young to be making decisions like that.  I'd like to know what your thoughts are on this subject.

I think it's a way of kids trying to find themselves or trying to find a way of expressing themselves.  Take a lot of pictures... one day he'll grow up and say, "What was I thinking!"  We've all been there, right?

better to get it out now than later. I always wanted to dye my hair blue and my parents never let me so you know the first thing I did in college? yep, blue hair baby! And you know what else...no one would hire me :(

Hair grows back, dye fades I say let them do whatever wacky thing they want with it so they get it out of their system now :p

Just my opinion though :)

The more you tell him to change it, the more he may want to keep it... maybe ask him to change the color or take him to get it cut so it'll look better?

Jun. 2, 2008 at 9:48 AM i think it's absolutely adorable! i know to a lot of adults its is a really bold and shocking hairstyle, but to kids it's just fun. i don't see any harm in letting him keep it for a while, but of course he is your child and not mine. my opinion is that kids can do a lot worse things than like a hairstyle that you might think looks goofy. i wouldnt tease him or say i'm embarrassed to be seen with him. he's learning to form and express his own opinions of what he likes. it's up to you how far he takes it, but in my opinion since it's summer time, i would let him keep it unless you have a formal event or something to go to.

Jun. 15, 2008 at 7:24 AM It's cute.  Don't focus so much on how it bothers you or show it and it won't be such a big deal for him to do it.  Did he do it because he was coming to see ya'll or other reasons?  You'll get used to it soon enough.  You could just smile the first time you see him every day and if he asks 'What?' just tell him it makes you smile (finding the humor in it might help you, too).  Don't worry so much about what other people think.  If anything, you can tell them it's his mother's influence.... lol  Enjoy and take pics....
