I inhereted my name from my Grandmother on my mother's side (Grandma past away before I was born) I get called lots of things a lot of people mistake the second "L" for an "I" and call me Sheila. So in case you all not sure how to pronounce it it is like Shelley but instead of "ey" it is an "a" To keep the name going in the family I have given it to my oldest daughter as a middle name.

Below is what I found when I googled.

Meaning: Its source is Caecilia, a Latin name meaning "Blind."

Non-English Forms: Shehla

Popularity: The name Shella ranked 3197th in popularity for females of all ages in a sample of the 1990 US Census.

Though this name appears on the 1990 U.S. Census lists, it is used by only a small percentage of the general population.

Narrative: This ancient Roman family name gave rise to the feminine Cecilia, which in time developed into Cecile and Cecily.

Although those names are usually considered female equivalents of the male Cecil, that name probably descended from a Welsh original, Seissylt, meaning ''the sixth child
