My daughter has had sever sinus problems for the past few months. She has had to be put on antibiotics, allergy medicines, and so on. Well nothing seemed to be working and her nose started bleeding (again) this past Thursday. so I get her to the doctor on Friday and they cant figure out why nothing is working so they referred me to the specialist (ear nose & throat doctor) While examining her the specialist discovered a blockage in her right nostril. Well, come to find out she had shoved a piece of a sponge about the size of a Quarter up her nose!  I think it came off one of her bath toys so when we got home I threw all the sponge bath toys away. But that is what was causing all her illness with her sinuses, she had a freakin germ holding sponge in her nose!

So what's  the strangest thing you have ever had to get taken out of your child's orifices?

Jun. 2, 2008 at 3:21 PM My daughter is obsessed with putting things in her nose. I have pulled out a sponge, sunflower seeds, hotdog, tissue, a bead, and numerous other foods. The good thing is she always comes and tells me and then lays down while I get the tweezers and pull it out. LOL Kids are so funny.

Jun. 2, 2008 at 3:23 PM I wish mine would have told me! She turned 2 back in April and the doctor is thinking that the sponge has been in there since around that time! it was shoved so far up there that we couldnt see it.

Jun. 3, 2008 at 6:21 PM I think my daughter likes to m have her nose picked. She totally lays there and laughs when I am using the snot sucker or picking the crusty's out of her nose. She is only 17 months, but she will come to me with her finger in her nose saying "pease" I know that means she shoved something up there. Kids are funny. I hope it never happens again, but at least you know what to look for now.

Wow!! Poor thing! Thank goodness they found it before it got to be a very serious situation.

My sis's daughter shoved a coffee bean up her nose last week. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off when she called and told me.
