I'm Abby, who are you?

Hmm..what to say, what to say??

So today is the official start of our summer vacation.  Joel was off last week, so I'm not really counting that.  I have summer vacation scheduled so that we do something different each day of the week and every Monday we will start over again.  We have plans to go swimming on certain days and the river and library on other days.  So hopefully we will have so many things to do the kids won't have time to be bored, they'll just have downtime when there isn't anything planned.  I have also planned in schoolwork for Caleb to do every day, there are several summer reading programs (school, library, and Half-Price Books) where he gets rewards for reading either a certain amount of time each day or a certain number of books.  It's so fun to be able to listen to him read, because reading is such a big part of Joel's and my life (I can go through 3-5 books a week), and I'm so happy at the rate he has been improving.  So every day he sits down for 30 min. to an hour to work on additon, handwriting and reading.  I know, give the kid a break, right?  I just want to make sure that he goes back to school being able to do at least what he left school doing, and this way I get some quiet time because while he does that Lizzy either watches a short video or colors by herself.  We have so many plans for the summer and it will be interesting to see how much we get done.

On a side note, we had a surprise visitor yesterday...

He was still alive, so Joel kicked him out and we cleaned the wading pool before letting the kids play.
