I really would love to know why so many people who choose to vaccinate get bent out of shape about non vaccinated children?! I guess if you believe all that "they" tell you, than isn't your child safe?!

It is so ridiculous to me. Any parent who chooses not to vaccinate has obviously put a lot of time and research into their decision. I mean, let's get real, it is going against the grain. It's the few sheep that stray off and don't follow the crowd.

Funny how being angry towards minorities is never acceptable except if there is a financial loss involved or heaven's forbid some opt out for their "fanatical" religious reasons! Wow, the craziness in that!!

I just think it's so lame and pathetic to worry your little heads off about it if your child is "safe"! That to me indicates a lack of faith in the whole process. I have two children who are up to date on their vacs and one who has never had any. And trust me, the ones who are vaccinated to the nines were done when I was very little informed. My third I did my research and made an "informed" decision.

Do I care if you vaccinate? No, I could care less. Do I think other children who aren't vaccinated are going to infect my children and cause a plague in my home...NO! I do not understand the hysteria involved with choosing not to vaccinate, I think it's yet another form of juvenile uninformed behavior. More power to you if you vaccinate, but if you vaccinate and spew hatred about those who don't...well, than you are a fool.

Jun. 2, 2008 at 4:14 PM Great post.  I've gotten a lot of crap from other moms for choosing not to have my son vaccinated.  I still don't understand why they care so much!  If they would just ask my reasoning, great, but they usually don't.

Jun. 2, 2008 at 4:15 PM Yeah, if they heard your reasons than they would have to reason and that would mean they would have to cut a little bit of fear out of their lives....God forbid!

We get mad for the same reasons those breast-feeding mothers get so mad at the formula feeders- we vaxers think you all are crazy and are not doing the right thing for your child...

Go right ahead and don't vaccinate. I bet you'd be the first one in line for a shot if your child was dying and there was a cure though...

It's pretty apparant that the collective they are all about using fear as a motivator, especially when you look at things like chicken pox that we're all supposed to be terrified of now. Next thing you know people will be just as afraid of chicken pox as they are of measles.

Don't think for yourself! Sheeple! Don't look to the left or right just follow the sheeps ass in front of you and for crying out loud do not question it!!

I get very very suspicious when I get the feeling we are supposed to blindly follow without questioning. "Vaccines are perfectly safe." Hmmm last I checked they don't even admit that Tylenol is "perfectly safe" Talk about sweeping things under the rug. There is so much information out there about vaccinations and if people would take the time to open up a book they would see that it's not as cut and dry as MD's like to make parents think it is. :) Heck, if you read on the CDC's very own website you will see things that will make your head spin. The problem is, the average person doesn't have time to research. Sad. I'm glad to have a ped who questions things and expects parents to think for themselves.

I've probably said too much... I'm going to go dig out my tin foil hat now.

Oh....but pumping formaldehyde, antifreeze, aluminum, phenol, methanol, borax, glutaraldehyde, MSG, animal organ tissue and blood, foreign proteins, animal and human viruses, foreign DNA, and modified yeast is doing what is right for your child....RIIIIGHT!  I see the logic in that!

As far as standing in line if my child was dying...well duh!  Who wouldn't treat their child if they were ill.  Treatment and prevention for exaggerated illnesses are two different things.  If you can't determine the difference between that I would suggest just sticking with letting the government decide what is best for your child.

And I am very pro breastfeeding but I don't seek out to bash people who formula feed.  Some people HAVE to formula feed for physical reasons anyway...a whole different topic.  I have never claimed that formula has as toxic ingredients (see above) as vaccinations so your comparison is just ludicrous.

I not only think you are crazy for caring but am starting to believe you to be lazy to!

Ok. So parents who vaccinate fear kids who aren't will come down with measles or something and infect their children?

Why........... If that's the case, what's the point of the vaccine in the first place?

Hmmm....

I don't see the point in cutting someone down for opting to not vaccinate their kids. The way I see it, I make choices based on what I feel is best for my kids, as does a mother who chooses the vax-free path. After a long miserable stretch of researching, I decided to vaccinate. I pray every day I made the right choice for my kids, because I was literally in tears trying to make that decision.

Jun. 3, 2008 at 11:02 AM Good for you!  That is the way I see it.  We make decisions that we believe to be best for "our" kids.  What irritates me the most is I have seen posts from women who list children who (supposedly) were not vaccinated and died from an illness.  And these people put things like "Murdered by mother"... which I think is so horrible!  That is the way some view it and I think that is disgusting.

Mangy_Momma, I know, it's an extremely hard choice. I've been educating myself on vaccinations for 2 years now and it's an a decision that I make every day. If you researched it and came to the conclusion that vax was best for your kids than you should feel comfortable with that. Don't let other people make you doubt your decision. I think all you can do is keep up on new information as it comes out. Dr. Sears has a lot of information on his website I think it's something like "thevaccinebook.com" or something like that. He posts new information as it comes out.
