I did this today.

The kids and I got up early and went to the lake.  It was practically desserted because it was overcast, drizzly, breezy and in the low 60s.  Disappointing for a summer day.

BUT it was wonderful.  My ds swung as high as he could and buried his feet in the soft sand.  My dd waded in the shallows and found frog eggs....tadpoles...snail shells...seaweed...

I just sat with my toes squishing in the sand and watched my kids play...listened to the trees in the wind...felt the cool drizzle and cool breeze...

We don't do that enough nowadays, do we?
