On memorial day we went to a cookout at my sil house.  They had invited friends from their church and one couple had 2 kids a healthy normal boy and a beautiful autistic (not sure if spell correctly) girl.  It broke my heart listening to her father tell about it.  She was perfectly normal until her 18 months shot. very smart, could walk, talk, even almost potty train, could feed herself with utensils.  So she was a lttle more advanced than most.  then she woke up one morning and her daddy said she was like a one month old baby again.  I have to say she couldnt have asked for better parents.  They handled her very well and were very patient with her.  My son is 2 1/2 and up to date on his shots and hes perfectly fine.  I just want to know why it happens to some but not all children.  is it something about their genes or what.  My husband and i were talking about it and the only thing I could think of is that maybe she got a really high fever after wards.  but im definitly not a doctor or scientist so i really have no clue. It just breaks my heart for that little girl and her family. they are a really sweet family.
