I learned how to read in 1st grade. I remember the first word I read. Once I started, I couldn't stop. I loved to read (still do, just don't have time). I can't say that there was one character that I wanted to be. I kind of would make myself the main character of whatever I was reading. I started reading chapter books pretty quick and was reading novels before I finished elementary school. I would stay in doors after school, instead of playing outside, just to read. I always spent tons of money at the book fairs. I read the Babysitter's Club, Pee Wee Scouts books, Ramona, and anything in our school library. I always enjoyed reading Wait til Helen Comes and There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom. I think I read my first Stephen King in 4th or 5th grade. Some of my fave authors now are Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, Jules Verne, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Edward Gorey, Shel Silverstein and Vladimir Nabokav.

Oh oh *raises hand* Me too! In school I was always "that" person that had already read the assigned books. In fact my English teacher would usually say something like "Now our next assigned book is...But I'm sure there's someone *pointed look at me* that has already read this one."
