We are home from the hospital. For how long? Who knows? When a child has cancer, your never really home for long.  Your whole life turns into a hospital. You have supplies at home, emergency numbers.  Numbers for oncologist here in Austin, oncologist in Houston, Surgeon that did limb salvage, Thorasic surgeon now.  In Aug. 2006 we found out the worst news that could ever be told to a parent. The "C" word....cancer!  Bone cancer, stage 5. She had a tumor in her left distal femur and it had two skip lesions. She had some tumors in her lungs that showed up with CT Scan. We did 5 inter-arterial chemos. (where they put a catheder from her groin on the right side to the left leg to feed straight to the tumor) and a chemo that went straight into her port. Then in Jan. 2007 she had a limb salvage surgery. They removed her entire femur bone and replaced it with a titanium rod.  She has the patella. (knee cap) It goes 3 1/2 inches into the tibia. Then she did 3 rounds of chemo and clear. For six months. Then relapse. Now, we have tumors in the lungs. 5 in the left have just been removed....and now 6 in the right, that will be removed in July sometime.  They need to stop the growth in her right leg. They go in and drill a hole in her right knee in the growth plate. So, we have at least two more surgeries to look forward too. Well, I guess I just needed to speak that out.  Have a great day! Trying to find my rainbows! I have her, and my other two kids; so there is 3 right there!
