I hate the dog that we have. She's dumb, destructive and needs to find a new home. I'm taking care of her until she's better from eating the rat poison....and I have no idea where it came from. We search my BIL's backyard and didn't find any.

Anyway, I am dead set on getting a teacup Yorkie. I want one soooooo bad! She would be so spoiled and so loved. I already told Nick that she would be sleeping in our bed so we would need to buy her the little doggy steps to get up there! She would have doggy training classes and play with our friend's pups once a week and romp with the kids....completely and totally spoiled. I tried all this with our current dog and she just went nuts. I think she's inbred. My Husband works for a pet store and He gets discounted pet meds and practically free vet visits so that wouldn't be an issue. Anyway, I want a Teacup Yorkie SOOOO BAD....the only thing is, those babies are EXPENSIVE!!!! We used to breed Westies and I thought they were expensive, nope. Then my mom got a bulldog and they are really expensive because they have to be born c-section...that's what I'm told.....so I understand. But how does a little bitty doggy cost so much? For a full blood, it's about $1000 a pound!!!!

Sigh. I guess I have to wait.

Jun. 3, 2008 at 1:53 AM Nope they cost more when they weigh less. That's the type of dog I wanted too but they cost about 3500 for the one I wanted so I got a teacup chihuahua and she is a nervous little something but is a great watchdog!

Jun. 3, 2008 at 1:55 AM Do an online search and try to find a breeder that might be willing to give you a good deal. at that price a plane ticket for poochie wouldn't be too much if you can find a good deal

Awww I love those little pups!

I am allergic to nearly everything, but I can handle poodles so I'm trying to talk Hunny into a Toy Poodle. I'd rather have a Yorkie or French Bulldog or Teacup Chi, but sadly I would have to have weekly shots...etc. Poo

I hope you find a way to get one! Get put on the waiting list at your local shelter. Sometimes they get purebreds in!! And it's soooooo much better to rescue than buy.

Jun. 4, 2008 at 2:10 PM Just wanted to give you some info.  There are no such thing as "teacup" Yorkies.  People just call them that when they are under 4lbs.  They tend to be more Sickly too.  People sell them for way over price and rip people off.  Most of those so called "teacups" will have some kind of major problem and will probably end up spending thousands and thousands of bucks on medical bills.  I would advise you that if you choose to get a Yorkie...get one that will be atleast 4lbs.  The bigger they are, the better they will be in health.  I just bought a 9 week old Yorkie 2 weeks ago and the breeder told me she will be about 5lbs.  Please don't let people rip you off.  Do some research on the breeders and Yorkies. =)
