I am MAD.  Really, really mad.  I am not sure how my state elected, not once, but twice a man that can stand in front of reporters and the whole world and slam that state.

A little history - I am from WV and damn proud of it.  I feel you should be proud of the state you are from.  But we're a little different.  See, in this state, we know the rest of the country is going to make fun of us.  Big time.  Most generally, we brush it off as THEIR igonorance.  After all, my family tree doesn't go straight up.  It has branches just like yours.  We have cars, houses, jobs, computers, and believe it or not, we even have running water in our houses.  We are prepared for people who don't know that WV is a separate state from VA.  Look at a map!!!  When we go out of town (yes, we have 'hard roads') and say we're from WV, you know what I hear?  I have relatives in Richmond.  Yeah, well dummy, I'm not anywhere near that.  LOOK AT A MAP!!!

In the 2000 election, does everyone remember the chads and every vote that counted?  Well, in that election George Bush and Dick Cheney were elected to be President and Vice President of our great country.  Guess what?  My little state, WV, helped put them there.  We are a Democrat state - we always vote Democrat. Always.  Until 2000 and then again in 2004.  We put them in the White House, not once, but twice.

And now that Dick Cheney is sure he doesn't need us, he can rip on us all he wants.  Let's see, what did he say?  OH, yeah, "I have Cheney's on both sides of the family and we're not even from WV.  You can say things like that when you're not running for re-election."

ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME!!!!!  Who in the Hell does he think he is??  I am so pissed I'm doing good to type.  And here's the bad part - it could have been your state or your ethnicity that prompted him to say such a disgusting thing.  Do you think if he would have stood up there and said I'm not even Irish or Black or Indian or Catholic or Baptist that the whole country wouldn't be in an uproar??  You would, you know you would!!

He is an elected official - I pay his salary.  My husband owns a multi-million dollar company and we pay out the butt taxes.  He has no right to stand up there and say that crap.  None.  He's supposed to protect and watch out for the 'little people'.  Has he?  Well, I would have to say no.  What a load of bull.

He will be hearing from me.  Here's his email address - vice_president@whitehouse.org.  Just in case he says it about your state.
