Is there an active group for this?  I am 33 and pregnant with #2.  My son will be 10 years old in September so that is quite a gap.  I am looking to make friends with other moms like me.   If this is you pm me.   I am worried about extra testing and stuff as I will be 34 in August!!  I want to share experiences..

I'm 33 and am TTC. I test next week to know this month.

I don't know about groups, though. I'm sure there are.

Congrats on the wee one. :)

Jun. 3, 2008 at 11:53 AM Hey Jen, congrats I didn't know.  Anyway I was 32 when I conceived Javiah, she's two now.  Anyway I didn't go thru any special testing.  I was just monitored a little more closer than normal.  Just remeber not to worry as you will put yourself in a high stress category. Just relax and breeze through this.

Jun. 3, 2008 at 12:44 PM I think it's 35 and older for most things... But I got tested for DS etc. when I was pregnant with Vince at 28 anyway.... I'd like to know if we'll have extra things to work on!

Jun. 3, 2008 at 3:36 PM Yeah, 35 and older is what my doc said as far as extra testing goes. But it might be a good idea just in case.  I feel you.  By the time I end up in a happy long-term relationship and stable, who knows how old I'll be.  Totally in the back of my mind all the time.

I was 34 turning 35 when our daughter was born. Our kids are 7 yrs apart. I was high-risk, but I didn't really do any "extra" test. I do say don't do the AFP test, I have only meet one person who has done it and wasn't scared by it. It's to test to see if the baby would have Downs. And they have to do it at just the right time or the answers come back wrong and end up scareing more then anything.

Congratulations!!  You must be excited!!  The age gap isn't really too bad.

My son is 13 and daughter is 5.  8 year gap.  It is kinda like not having the other 2 children in between.  Many people have multiple children and their first and last have the same age gap...  If you know what I mean...My daughter wants to do everything he's doing.  Ecspecially when his friends are over.  Right now they both have way different interests.  Which is difficult at times.  But overall it is manageable.

If you have another boy, I think it will be nice for DJ.  If it is a girl, it is a little harder cause boys don't understand the girl things and DJ probably won't want to play dolls with her when she gets old enough.  Or maybe....just depends..

I have a sister who is 13 years older than me and a brother who is about 10 years older than me.  I dont remember my sister living with us much.  She moved out when I was 5 but I do remember my brother living there.  My older sister is my idle.  She has set a good example for me.  We have gone to the beach on vacation together and have an awesome relationship as adult siblings.  She is amazing!!  My brother is awesome too.  But not as interactive as my oldest sister.  He has been to my house for many occassions but kinda keeps to himself.

As far as my family goes, we do everything together.  We still go to the zoo, movies, out to eat, on vacations, camping, fishing, biking, swimming, boating and all with the two of them and have lots of fun.
