Hi Everyone, I am new here and just came from the library in which I had a long conversation.

I live in Israel and have for about 14years now. Books of any kind are very expensive to buy so I was lucky to find a library here.

I have lists of recommandations from here and another site I belong too. BUt needless to say we do not have new or even fairly new books. I asked why and the lady that works there informed me that the books that are in English are donated from the local book store. I live in the North of Israel and our book store is very small. She gave me an idea of asking if there is any group or people that would like to donate English books. It is a tax write off and she would even put a plaque up at the library saying who did what.

Thank you  for your attention to this .

If I were to send some books to your library in Isreal - where would I send them? Do they prefer paperbacks or hardcovers or both? Please let me know because I am interested in getting rid of quite a few books that don't seem to be of interest on paperback swap or bookmooch.

Martha, I will call the library today and get that information for you. I am sure that they would take them all. But to make sure I will check. Where are you located? If you do not mind me asking.

Carole,

I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA. If you don't mind sharing - what brought you to Isreal?

I was born and raise in Seattle. I moved to Los Angeles when Iwas seventeen and pretty much settled there. I met a nice man who is Israeli. We have been married almost 23 years now and moved here in 1994.It is not easy here but things are Okey. I have had to learn how to cook again and adjust to things that are not available here.

Do you have horses? I see your picture. We brought our horses here when we first got here. I am a at home house wife and my son is grown up now and in the army. My husband is a majoy in the police department. He was a commanding officer in the Northern Unit of the police horses.

MOMTOJASON,

I need your help. Maybe I am just to slow at understanding. I went into www.bookmooch.com and joined. Made my wishlist and also put in the books that I have left to trade ,send or what ever. I wish I would have none months ago and I would have had alot of books to add for sending. Anyhow what do I do now that both lists are done.

Thank you

Carole,

Growing up I used to have a horse. Now, I just dream about having one. I love horses and I love the feeling of being on this powerful animal and working together as one being. There is nothing like it in the world. So the picture reminds me of being a mother and that someday I just might get my horse.

We had two horses bought to Israel when we first got here. But the cost and up keep became to much we had to sale them. They were Paints. Mother and son. The son is not one of the champions of Israel.

I have dogs also. Two siberian huskies. Love them to death.

How old are you if you do not mind me asking? I am 55, have one son he will be 21 next month. I used to be a bookkeeper now I am a housewife at home. Being that my son is grown now I have alot of time to myself. My husband is always working or studing and my son is in the army right now .

I live in the country not  far from Lake Galilee. Spend most of my day reading, and on the computer.

Martha,

Just did a small search on posts and found your other posts . On you going back to school and the other titled MOmmy's War.

You are a very educated person with good ideas on life. I was never very popular in school or as a child. I had my few friends yes but as hanging around in groups never. I was always one that did what I felt right and usually did not care about how others viewed me.

I finished my education on my own and worked very hard through my life. I have to sometimes stop and take a good look at myself and think about where I am today. But all in all I am very pleased with how things have turned out. My son , I am very proud of him and how he thinks. He has been raised to look at people in a whole not just from the outside. Sit back listen to what is being sad and take in the full picture of things. He has turned out to be a very loving caring young man.

Now that I am at home and have alot of time. I also have been thinking of taking a few courses in what I am not sure yet. I have to number one find something in English . I sure something will  come up if I look hard enough.

Let me know if you would like to connect on the messenger.
