This was posted by someone else some time ago, but I decided to repost it. It was good to read over.:-)

In Daniel 6 we see a young man who made a difference. Daniel loved the gentle whisper of God more than the roar of the crowd. We all face peer pressure. Daniel didn't follow the crown and he paid the price. In the end, the crowd followed him. Dan. 6:26.

1. The ability to learn to say no before the question is asked. Dan. 1:8.
A conviction is a pre-determined answer. This is what I will do if and when I face the situation. A conviction is something I know I will do not something I think someone should do. My heart and my mind are settled on this issue.

Things that challenge our convictions.
1. Time-Erosion
2. Family and Friends
3. Peer Pressure or the good buddy syndrome
4. Losing our quiet time. The Bible is our standard. 2 Tim. 3:16. When we lose our quiet time, we start to lower our standard.
5. Jobs and trials and troubles.

2. The ability to listen to God's wisdom instead of the world's logic. Dan. 6:10. Hebrews 11:7. The wisdom of God can look like foolishness to a lost person or carnal Christian. Isaiah 55:6-11.
1. Builds an ark on dry land.
2. Give an old woman a child.
3. Lets 3 Hebrew children go into the furnace.
4. Pulls a baby boy out of the water and makes him a great leader.
5. Tells us that He can do more with 90% of our money than we can do with all of it.
6. Saves someone that persecutes the Church, lets him get in jail, and write stuff we can read and use today.
7. Lets His one and only son die for us.

3. The ability to be promoted and remain the same. Dan. 6:3.
If we are faithful to God, promotion will come. Psalm 75:5-7.
Promotions don't always look like promotions.

4. The ability to do right no matter the cost. Dan. 6:26., Hebrews 11.24, Moses, Zaccheus, Paul.

5. The ability to give God all the glory. Dan. 6:22. Exodus 20:5, Jealous God. Exodus 17:1-7, Numbers 20:1-2, and Deut. 34:1-8. If we try to take credit for the things of God we commit Spiritual Suicide.
