I decided that after watching my son's father clumsily attempt to get a diaper on and off, that there were many dads just like that, and they needed the help that they were sometimes afraid to ask their wives, g/f or mothers how to do, b/c the ridicule or simply being pushed aside and having the diaper changed for them, the bath given while watching on the side lines, or the baby being fed while dad looks on. I have also noticed that with in the last 20 years, dads are starting to be awarded custody more and more and there just arent enough resources out there for them. So I decided to create A Daddys World, where dads of all ages and all walks of life can come together and get the support they need with out the judging and ridicule that we as women sometimes give out way too often and most times w/o even realizing it. I have guy friends that are full time single dads and they have called me at all hours of the night asking me questions (which I dont mind at all), but I always thought... wouldnt it be nice for them to be able to log on to a website, like we have, and ask those questions and get the help they need. In this day and age men are stepping up more and more and becoming more active in the development of our kids. This site will help dads gain the courage, knowledge, and know-how to take care of the kids they helped create...lol

Lets help those guys, eventually we will be able to have mommy time w/o having to call every 10 minutes to make sure that everything is okay, Vote this popular!

Jun. 3, 2008 at 12:50 PM Where's the website? I think it would be awesome to have moms answer the questions that dads have. We, of course, need help. But it comes more naturally for us because we are the nurturers

Jun. 3, 2008 at 3:53 PM I just checked out the site and it looks like Daddy's Den.  Sorry.  I know your heart is in the right spot.  In fact, there's a few websites geared for dads, moms and parents in general.

Jun. 3, 2008 at 10:18 PM I didnt want a website geared for parents in general, I wanted a safe place for dads, and when I did research, I found very limited resources for dads. and in all honesty there are MANY mom sites that are similar, and the truth of the matter is, is that I am trying to create at least ONE more resource for dads. Its not about having an original idea, its about giving dads the resources they need to help us mothers raise our children. I appreciate everyones feedback on the matter, and I am happy that there are other places a dad can turn if my site isnt what they are looking for. so with that said, thank you again for your feedback as a mother and a parent.

Jun. 4, 2008 at 10:46 AM Good idea.  I don't ridicule my husband, but the other day he was having trouble changing our DD's diaper.  I looked to see what the problem was and, no lie, he was putting it on backwards. The thing is, he's changed diapers before!  Many times!  We had a good laugh.

Jun. 4, 2008 at 11:04 AM You have a great idea, there are websites like this already out there, they aren't on the same scale as Cafemom though.
