It has been quite a while since I posted to this journal and the two of us have been through a lot of changes over the past year.  We came to MO to visit my family and Mya fell in love with her family here and MO in general and did not want to leave.  So, we stayed and Mya has blossomed into quite the wonderful little girl.

Mya started school here and loves it.  She has made many new friends and has done very well in school.  She reads constantly and loves being read to as well.  We usually go through five or six books a day.  One of her prized possessions is her book collection!!  They mean more to her than all of her other toys.  I am so proud of her for that.  I love reading and it is so important to me to raise a child who loves reading and values books.

Another great love of Mya's is her family.  For most of her life, she has been away from my family and hadn't been exposed to family oriented activities.  Since we have moved back here to MO, she has developed strong bonds with her family and they have helped her grow so much as a person.  We went through a rough patch when my Dad passed away in November, but being here with my family helped everyone get through it.  I am so happy that Mya had a few months with my Dad and was able to get to know him and bond with him.  He was an incredible Father and Grandfather and the time they shared is something that I hope Mya will always treasure.

Mya is now attending summer school and loves it.  She goes swimming a few times a week and spends time on the computers at school.  We are looking forward to another year here in MO and all that it will bring.
