I talked to my sister today and she has decided that she doesn't want Dy'Quon back. I asked her if she was willing to let me adopt him and she said yes. I'm not going to get too excited right now because she could change her mind at the last minute (I doubt she will).

I don't want him having any contact with her what-so-ever because she's never going to change. I don't want him to go through the heartbreak of her inconsistency.

I feel bad about this in some ways because I will be taking him away from his mother. On the other hand I don't feel like i'm doing anything but protecting him from a lifetime of unhappiness.

As far as i'm concerned from this point on Dy'Quon is my son. I'm officially starting the adoption process, which I have been informed takes a very long time to do. I don't see why they wouldn't let me adopt him. He's my nephew, I'm financially and emotionally capable of taking care of him, and I'm more than willing to do it.

Wish me luck momma's!!

Jun. 3, 2008 at 3:13 PM I just read all your journal posts about your situation with your sister. I'm so sorry that you have to deal with all that nonsense!! I also wanted to tell you that your an amazing person, your sister and nephew are so lucky they have you in their lives! I wish I had some advice to give but I've never been in your situation. All I can say is good luck and send lots of good thoughts your way!!!

Jun. 3, 2008 at 4:42 PM I just read all your posts and YOU GO GIRL!!!! You are obviously a wonderful human being, mother, & auntie. It brought tears to my eyes to think of him strapped inthat seat while she slept. He will grow up to be a fine young man under your care, I am sure of that. You are a very empowered woman! I get down in the dumps about my situation which pales in comparison to yours. If you can raise & care for 4 babies, then I have nothing to complain about!
