I learned to read when I was three in order to keep up with my sister. We read and were read to all the time. I loved the Frances the Hedgehog books, Dorrie the Witch, Mrs. Pigglewiggle, Dr. Seuss, the Hodgepodge book, Beverly Cleary, The Farthest Away Mountain, Richard Scarry... So many. I still have lots of my favorite books from when I was a kid. I also loved to write stories and have several I wrote before I started school and during kindergarten. I still love books of all kinds. Although I did love Sesame Street (still do), I'm so glad our imaginations and intellects were piqued with books. Stories have a very special place in life and engage you in a way television cannot.
