My almost 4 year old has been pottty trained since 2 1/2. He wears underwear while he is awake, and he wears a pull up for nap and bedtime cause he WONT stay dry sleeping. He is a sound sleeper, so I thought that he will grow out of it kind of thing (when we first started). Its been over a year now and he still wet during sleeping times! I have tried the limit drinks, and no drink before bedtime things, go potty before bedtime and naptime, he still doesnt stay dry! And he only wears a pull up, cause I dont want to change sheets everyday cause they will be wet! I DONT KNOW what to do now! I need some advise or things to try to get the pull ups out of my budget (I am due with number 3 in 2 months, and I have an almost 2 year old in diapers too). I dont see why he cant hold it, even if its just thru naptime (only for 2 hours).

(He sleeps with his room door closed and in a crib tent on his toddler bed cause he wont stay in it, so he cant get out of his room unless I open the door for him)

Thanks, I could really use some help!!

Jun. 3, 2008 at 6:10 PM IDK have you also tried giving him crackers at these times? I've heard that crackers absorb the liquids in your belly. Of course, make them non salty ones so there is no need for a drink! LOL

Jun. 3, 2008 at 6:35 PM It's completely normal for kids to take a bit longer to go through the night without wetting.  For some kids it can take til they are 6 or 7 yrs old.   Forcing the issue will possibly make it worse.  His body still needs time to mature to get to the point where he can go through the night without wetting.

I think it is normal too (the whole sleep thing and all) Zach was the same way but he only took six months and he somehow started making it through the night? When he wakes up is he fresly soaked or has it been a while type? If he is freshly soaked then I would offer him some incentive to wake up dry (some kids are just lazy...yes I know of a few of them like that (not mine! LOL)).

Good luck.
