No.  Seriously.  Okay, everyone and thier mom knows I'm broke.   I had just a little cash left, so I bought Noodle a new can of formula, and then some corn and chicken since the adult food was running a little low.  The whole time I was shopping yesterday I had a nagging feeling like I was forgetting something.  Couldn't figure out what it was for the life of me.

So we sat down to dinner last night, and I pulled out my Pentasa (Crohn's Medication) and BAM.  8 pills left.  Damnit!  I take 8 pills a day.  I filled the perscription today, but unfortunately I don't have the money to fill it.  I took two earlier, but am trying to save the rest.  This sucks because after Noodle's birthday party I could feel the beginnings of a flare up from all the stress... now if I do have one, it's going to have to go untreated, not to mention it's more likely to flare up now that I'm not taking nearly enough of my meds.

*kicks self*

This sucks.  Seriously.

Hi Sarah -

The manufacturer of Pentasa has a Patient Assistance Program that you may be eiigible for.  You can apply using the link below:

http://www.pentasaus.com/Consumers/PAP.aspx

You may also be able to talk to your doctor and see if your Crohn's may be contolled using a medication called Asacol which is the same type of drug as Pentasa but should be considerably less expensive as it does have a generic available.   Oftentimes, Asacol is the "preferred" medication on insurer formularies and should incur a lower copay that the typically "non-preferred" Pentasa.

Of course, you should consult with your doctor or pharmacist to determine your best treatment option.

 I hope this helps!

Do you have insurance?  If not there are a lot of pharmacies that offer discount programs.  I had to join one at my local Walgreens.  Maybe your doctor has some samples that could get you through until your next pay day?
