(almost) daily rants on life

While we were in Los Alamos, I couldn't help but see this headline jumping out at me while I was standing in line at Smith's.

There's a slam against big families if I ever saw it.  It immediately got my blood boiling because its another example of mainstream media playing it up and acting like children in big families are lonely and secluded.   Apparently the gist of the article is that they will be having their twins right as Shiloh's in the midst of her "terrible two's" and they're having some issues with her behavior and pitching fits when they ask if she'd like to buy the twins something.  Uh, ok, it just sounds like a typical 2 year old who isn't disciplined Biblically - has nothing to do with family size.

When you look at it, their family isn't THAT big - 4 kids.  Yeah, sure, its above the national average of, what is it now, 2.1?  But 4 kids - I would hardly call that a big family OR grounds for a lonely life.   Angelina Jolie is expecting twins, which would bring their tally up to six - The more the merrier!  The more playmates Shiloh will have!

Ugh...that headline just bothered me.

I think what they were going for was that being from a large family, she shouldn't feel secluded, but that's just the way I took it.
