New to cafemom and have a few things i would like to share

HI..I SAW CAFEMOM AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE COOL TO CHECK IT OUT...I AM 24 THE MOTHER TO A BEAUTIFUL 3 YR OLD SON NAMED JAYDEN AND ALSO THE WIFE TO A MILITARY HUSBAND...I GUESS I WILL START OFF BY TELLING A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...I JOINED THE ARMY AND SERVED FOR 4 YEARS WHERE I MET MY WONDERFUL HUSBANDMY LIFE HAS BEEN A ROLLERCOASTER EVER SINCE...I HAVE LIVED IN 3 STATES AND KOREA...MY HUSBAND SERVED 13 YRS ACTIVE DUTY IN THE MILITARY GOT OUT AND THEN JOINED THE ARMY NATIONAL GUARD WHERE HE PLANS ON SERVING 20 YEARS WHICH WILL GIVE HIM 32 YEARS OF MILITARY SERVICE...WHEN WE FINALLY MADE OUR LAST MOVE (BACK TO MY HOMETOWN) I WAS HIT WITH A BOMBSHELL.....MY HUSBAND RECEIVED WORD THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE DEPLOYED TO IRAQ IN SEPT 2008 NOW YOU WOULD THINK THAT AFTER SERVING 13 YRS WITH THE ARMY THAT HE WOULD HAVE ALREADY GONE OVER THERE..WRONG!! TIM HAS BEEN IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAR ZONE EXCEPT IRAQ...MY HEAD IS SO CLUSTERED RIGHT NOW...BESIDES THE FACT THE MY HUSBAND IS BEING SENT TO A HORRIBLE PLACE AT THE SAME TIME HE LEAVES I AM GOING BACK TO COLLEGE TO EARN MY DEGREE....I DONT WANT THIS TO SOUND LIKE A PITY PARTY FOR ME BUT I JUST WANT TO ASK HOW MUCH CAN ONE PERSON HANDLE? IM STARTING SCHOOL I HAVE A 3YR OLD SON WE JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE AND NOW MY HUSBAND IS LEAVING FOR A YEAR (HOPEFULLY ONLY A YEAR) I WOULD JUST LIKE TO GET SOME ADVICE NOT ONLY FROM MOTHERS WHO HAVENT GONE THROUGH THIS BUT FROM SOME WHO HAVE...HOPEFULLY I GET SOME FEEDBACK BECAUSE ANYTHING WOULD HELP

Jun. 5, 2008 at 5:53 PM I am here for you if you want to talk.  It seems like your husband would have already been deployed to Iraq.  Things rarely happen in the order we think they should.  I am proud of you for going back to college to earn a degree.  Hang in there, hold your head up, and put your trust in God.

Jun. 6, 2008 at 1:48 PM Thanks tessa...it is very unusual that he hasnt been deployed there yet...he volunteered when we were in Korea together but he got involintarily extened to stay in Korea...it would be nice to talk to someone once in a while about things going on in my head..the same goes for you if you need someone to talk to im am here as well...

Julie, my brother is like your husband. My brother is a lifer. He went in at 19 and is now 32.  He like your husband avoided Iraq for sometime but last year his luck ran out and he was sent over for 15 months. He is home now and will be untill he finishes Captian's school but after that who knows what could happen.Life is constantly throwing things at us but we have to remember everything happens for a reason, even if it is to make us stronger. You can do this, with your family and friends around you. If you ever need to chat or vent feel free to call me or pm me on here. This too shall pass!
