This is the day...

Growing up...I had one favorite song to sing at church... "This is the day that the Lord has made"... I used to love wearing my long dresses, white church shoes with ruffled socks...perfect pony tails with bows...and sign up to sing up on the alter...

Today I had a morning meeting cancelled and decided to sneak out to my sons school. They have "Starbucks Friday" once a month and I never get to go because of this scheduled monthly meeting. A little bit of background.. My son is 9 years old and a 3rd Grader at a Christian School. I get there and see him standing in from of all his fellow students..holding a Bible (I'm thinking..."What's going on"?)... Well...today was his turn to say the weekly Bible verse and the pledge of allegiance in front of the whole school. He did not say anything because the children are chosen arbitrarily...

I got chills when I heard him resiting it because God had led me there... I enjoyed my cup of Starbucks coffee as the morning announcements were made... All of a sudden the music teacher says... "O.k. children...let's all sing This is the Day that the Lord has made and praise the Lord"..... *WOW*.... I got tears in my eyes and praised the Lord right along with them... In my heart I knew that God had led me there to watch my son and to let me know that he's with me everyday...all day. I place so much trust in him and his guidance...and he continues to prove his love for me.

Husband update: Hubby is really enjoying his job and I'm enjoying having a husband at home everyday. My children have never been happier and I can see how having him at home every-night has placed such peaceful joy in there hearts.

It's Friday today and I'm faithful, loved, happy, joyful and overall BLESSED!!! (why don't they have that blessed as 'current mood'?)

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for reading...

Mommy...
Wow...I have tears in my eyes reading this. Thank you for writing about your wonderful day! Yes, today is the day that the Lord hath made...My grandma used to say that to me every morning when she would wake me up for school. And it has a special place in my heart as well. Your day was guided, and I am glad that it was so perfect.

mozhe...
That is awesome! I am happy for you. Those unexpected opportunities are priceless. Right now my song is Look What the Lord has Done, my son gets all silly at the end =).
