I've never done this before, we will see how good I do:

First thing, my hubby is a recovering addict, sober for 1.5yrs, but back then...not so much. Well I was at home, just hanging out, feeling what I thought could be contractions, but we already went to the Birth and Womens Center twice with false alarms, so I was going to wait a while this time. My SO (now hubby) calls around 8pm to say he was going to go to the bar after work with some co-workers, I (the carpet that I was) said "ok, but I think I might be in labor" his response "Well call me if you really are" So I sit at home and wait a little longer. Around 11pm, I couldn't take anymore, it was real and I was hurting, so I call SOs cellphone, his reponse "call me back in an hour, if you are still having them" Again, being the carpet I was, I waited and hour and called him back, and received the exact same response "call in an hour". So I thought F-you and hung up and worked through the pain on my own. He finally get home shortly after 2am, bar close.

We go into the BWC, and Norla tells us that I defitinitely am in labor, but it will go on for a while longer and I might be more comfortable at home with distractions like TV. So we head home, I climb in the tub and hubby falls in bed. I AGAIN labor on my own until 6am, try to wake hubby...no luck he is PASSED out! So I labor on my own a little longer, eventually I am sitting on the bed next to him bouncing on my butt because that feels better, trying to wake him up, FINALLY he wakes up. We end up back at the BWC around 8am. Norla checks me out and and then the nurse Stacey fills the tub and in I go. I don't remember too much after that. I remember throwing up and wanting my Mommy, not caring at all about SO, but pissed when he would leave the room to smoke. I remember Norla giving SO a little fish net to "fish" my poop out of the tub as I pushed.

Norla told us that he would be born by 4pm, and at 3:55pm on March 20th 2001 (his due date), My son Connor James was born, weighing in at 8lbs10ozs and 21ins. I grew up and feel in love with that little man right then.

Jun. 6, 2008 at 10:07 PM My first and only, I went 23 hours of labor and my hubby at the time, now ex hubby was no where to be found.  He worked in the morning on the day he was born, he even went to an interview on the afternoon he was born.  He did not even show up until the minute I was being rolled back for a csection.  There shows some of the reason we are no longer together.  I was sooo happy when my son came. He was born the day before his due date...
