My suprise baby. My oldest son was close to 6mths old, when my MIL came to the house to babysit so my SO and I would be able to get away for a date night. I asked hubby to pick up a pregnancy test, just to make sure, since I was feeling ick for a while and we were planning on drinking. I was excusing everything away as recovery from childbirth, but the test came back positive! We went out and had a great time, but freaking out the whole time to. Set up an appointment with Norla at the BWC, turns out I was close to FOUR months pregnant! How did I miss that!

The pregnancy was very fast (maybe because I was almost halfway done, when I found out?), I had no complications at all...other that the fact he didn't want out! When I was 41wks alone Norla recommended castor oil. So SO and I go to a resturant with our oldest and order a milkshake to mix the oil into, it would be around 2pm. Then we just order food and enjoy ourselves...for about 30min. Because I then started contracting...strongly. We call MIL to come be with Connor and we head into the BWC. Norla checks me out and then we all hang out as I labor. I sat on the exercise ball just chatting and joking and at one point say I want to get in the tub. So Norla checks me out and SUPRISE, I am already dialated to 8cm. Norla said she didn't know I was that far advanced, I was having too much "fun"!

So I climb in the tub and continue to labor, this time gripping my (now)hubbys hand. After just 4hrs of labor, I gave birth to Jakob Sebastian, 8lbs14ozs and 21in., he was such a suprise, but such a great one!

Jun. 6, 2008 at 7:06 PM What an awesome story.  My oldest daughter was also 6 months when we found out we were expecting.  I was having my glucose levels checked and they had run a pregnancy test as well.  It came back positive, but I had to sit in the office for three hours still for the test!!  What a shocker!!
