Where's the stimulus? Why we are on our way to a Depression.

When the stimulus package was proposed, I was against it - I heard people talk about how they were going to pay bills while some went out and purchased more frivolous items.   We are in a worse position today than we were before the stimulus - it reminds me of the old Wendy's commercial, "Where's the beef?", in this case, "Where's the stimulus?"

Here goes a really smart proposal - why didn't we take those same billions and give our truckers for example, a break, take the $4.59 a gallon down to $3.00, we would have then reduced our shipping costs and therefore reduce the cost of our goods including food.

Why do the solutions that make sense seem to be the solutions that our politicians don't embrace?

We are coming into a time when we are all going to start having to make sacrifices and what worries me is that our children are not prepared for this brave new world.  This is why we are on our way to a Depression. We will, not doubt survive as we always do but it is going to hurt.
