In English, the color blue is ascociated with sadness (I feel blue).

In the colour therapy, blue is ascociated with soothing effects, it lowers the pulse and  eases pain. It is also regarded to help with inner reflection.

Blue is the colour of the sky. For that reason, goddesses or saints are often depicted with blue clothes.

And why do we say royals have blue blood? Back in the old ages, farmers used to work on the fields while their rulers stayed inside. As result, their skin was pallid. And if the skin tone is real light, you can see the blood vessels through it - appearing blue. So the people thought they really had royal "blue" blood ;o)
