So... I had said I would re-evaluate Keith's spiritual perspectives daily... I haven't. Please forgive me, Keith, you are not forgotten. I wanted to share his take on Deepak Chopra's "7 Spiritual Laws", but I've only blogged the first "law" so far. Here is the next...
2: The Law of Giving~
The universe operates through dynamic exchange... giving and recieving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.
This seems sort of like "The Secret" which I don't necessarily agree with. But I do think it accurately applies to our interactions with others. At its' essence, this idea is like "Karma"... if you want to receive positivity, then give positivity. In communication with others, it's fairly simple. If we accost another person, and meet them with an attitude and/or energy of hostility, it's only natural for them to return it and they can't really be blamed for doing so. But if we approach another with an attitude of friendliness, it is likely to be reciprocated, beginning a cycle of positive interaction in that relationship.
APPLICATION
Wherever I go and whoever I encounter, I will give them a gift. The gift may be a compliment, a flower, or a prayer. Today I will give something to everyone I come in contact with, and so I will begin the process of circulating joy, wealth and affluence in my life and in the lives of others.
Today I will gratefully recieve all the gifts life has to offer me. I will receive the gifts of nature: sunlight and the sound of birds singing, or spring showers, or the first snow of winter. I will also be open to receiving from others, whether it be in the form of a material gift, money, a compliment, or a prayer.
I will make a commitment to keep wealth circulating in my life by giving and receiving life's most precious gifts: the gift of caring, affection, appreciation, and love. Each time I meet someone, I will silently wish them happiness, joy, and laughter.
Keith really did do this in a very admirable way. I succeeded in doing so as well for a matter of months, it takes constant intellectual vigilance and control over oneself, for me anyway. I practiced greeting everyone I met (mentally) with the word "Namaste", acknowledging that they are an equal in the eyes of the Source as well as my own, accepting them, and wishing them positivity. It's really quite a simple idea and easy to practice when oneis in conscious control of thier thoughts.
In conclusion, thank you Keith, for leading by excellent example and beginning a cycle of positivity with me.
