My son is six weeks old now, and he's discovered the power his cry has. Before now when he cried it was just because something was wrong. Now, not only does he cry when something is wrong, but also when he wants more attention.
This morning, after his feeding he was a little playful but I had to pee, so I put him down. As soon as I walked away he let out the loudest wail. I went to the bathroom anyway ( I couldn't hold it) and he was still going at it. Listening to it, I thought to myself how different this cry sounded from all the others, it wasn't really a cry, more of a yell, and it was then I realized that he was yelling at me for leaving him when he wanted to play. I washed my hands and went in the room and picked him up and gave him a kiss. He stopped wailing and gave me a smile.
I'll have to be careful, or else I'm going to spoil him and it will never end.
