So we went back to the Occupational Therapist today for T's first therapy session. She gave me the results came in as follows:
Peabody Development motor Test - Average
Clinical Observations - Deficient
Sensory Profile - Deficient
I had pretty much already figured out that he would be given the diagnosis as Sensory Integration Disorder, but here's where the interesting part comes in.
Tactile Sensitivity - Probable Difference
Taste/Smell Sensitivity - Typical Performance
Movement Sensitivity - Typical Performance
Underresponsive/Seeks Sensation - Definite Difference
Auditory Filtering - Definite Difference
Low Energy/Weak - Typical Performance
Visual/Auditory Sensitivity - Probable Difference
So the Total Overall Short Sensory Profile came up as Definite Difference.
The key for the above is as follows
Typical Performance = 84% of all children
Probably Difference = between the 2nd and 16th percentile
Definite Difference = below the 2nd percentile
So we are learning strategies to help T to cope with his sensory issues and we are on our way to a more peaceful life at home (if that exists)

I did a search for moms who work part-time, with a kid my age with a sensory problem and here you are! I have to say, my little guy gets OT once a week (just started 2 weeks ago) and life is SO much more peaceful! It takes a lot of time during the day to work with him, but it is SO worth it!
