Austen & I went to Hollywood & Beverly Hills yesterday to get him signed with an angency .  He's a bit too short to do high fashion modeling, he's only 5'11, but the head hunter that found him, thinks he'd make a great actor, be great in commercials, catalogs, soap operas, tv shows,  etc.

Anyhow, Austen & I have been totally skeptical, for months about this whole deal.  On Tuesday we drove out to Egypt to have some updated pics taken of him...to show the agencies.   So, off we went to meet the head hunter off of Melrose. And the first agency loved him, said he had a "great look" --they want him.  Then, a bit later we went to a big agency, one that represents big actors.   We walked into this Beverly Hills office right off Wilshire Blvd. and I started sweating! HA!   Movie posters which represents their actors all over the walls, etc.

So get this, the head ladies assistant comes out and walks us into the conference room, offers us coffee water or soda.  Then I got really nervous...conference room?    The table was glass and I couldnt hide my fidgeting body under the table!  ha!  In comes the lady and she immediately tells the story of the 3 big actors she passed up because they did not have any experience but ended up making it big.  Said she regretted passing them up!   The one gay man on that TV show "Will and Grace" --anyhow she looks at the 4 rolls of Austen's pics.  The head hunter was talking up a storm with her, and then she gets up and leaves the room, comes back with another one of the owners.  Shakes our hands, sits down.  They talk more.  Then she gets up again, in comes another owner.  Looks at Austen, his pics.  they talk more.  SHe gets up again, brings in another person, then another!  Then in came their stickler, very serious.  He asks Austen to tell about himself.  My dorky (closet geek) son tells about his sports in high school, going to community college and you could see him struggle to think of something else, so he says, "I won most attractive in my senior class" ( with his hands up in the air and his shoulders shrugged) -- HE MADE THE STICKLER START CRACKING UP, then he said, "So was your senior class all of 4 students"??  EVERYONE STARTED LAUGHING!  REALLY HARD.  They asked him to stand up, etc.    So, they were talking about Austen having parts in specific upcoming movies, and by that time, everyone's talking started sounding like the teacher on "Charlie Brown" ---"Wa-wa-wa" nobody was making sense to me!  HA!   I was overwhelmed!   She sent him to an acting class last night which went really well.  She asked Austen to call her today & let her know how the class went!

It was a real trip!  Exciting and unbelievable.  We got on the elevator and the head hunter started dancing around and was saying, "I knew it, I knew it"  --  Austen & I were kind of stunned, didnt know  a "bad" meeting from a "good" meeting!  I guess this lady would have kicked us out in less than 5 minutes if she thought he didnt have the look or a chance!  They represented the new "superman" dude and a lot of other big actors.  Austen was in shock, think we both were.  You know, he's just my kid...a regular kid.  Its hard to imagine him in a movie, or even on a soap opera!  ha!   They want to start sending him out on calls next week!  Heck, first we have to get him a head shot.   Its happening really fast!

Well, sorry this was so long.  But just so exciting, had to share with all my buddies!
