Isn't EVERY child ever born born with the "possibility of physical abuse?" I mean seriously... Can any parent honestly swear that NOONE, EVER, thru the whole life of a child will EVER in any way hurt or bully their child?

Just remember, this is one side of the story with very little to no back history... But it is sick!!

Ironic that it happened in TX after the whole FLDS thing?

Nothing against social workers, they work hard and do a good service... But to go so gung ho after a new born when I have a friend whos 16 and whos mom has litteraly tried to kill herself 5 times in 6 months(hospital stays after wards) and actually killed herself and been brought back once... She has noone else and THEY WON"T TOUCH HER!!! Maybe theres something to the $$$ aspect of adopting out the babys...

Jun. 13, 2008 at 7:54 AM I have seen the opposite in our life.  My parents foster two kids who have a bm who only wants them with her when its convenient for her.  She is too lazy to hold a job for more than a few days and moves from place to place living with men so she doesn't have to work.  She drags the kids with her and they were constantly neglected, a few times abused, and in more than a year, she has made zero improvement but has been awarded unsupervised overnights where she is already bringing in strange men and other numerous ridiculous decisions, yet the case worker is lying about details in her report because her supervisor is pushing her to get the kids back with mom.  I'm so scared for them, and they don't want to go back.  They have just blossomed in my parent's care.  The day the social worker brought them, she literally dropped them in the front yard and started to drive away before my parents even got outside! Can you imagine?  Their mother never calls or acknowledges birthdays or holidays.  She simply takes them for the visits and sends them back.  For a while she had her visits at Walmart because she couldn't go back to her boarding house she was in fearing the owner would see her and evict her.  She was actually shacking up with another guy to avoid going there, but couldn't have the visits there because he and his place weren't approved.  Needless to say, they approved him now..although I don't know how they did a background check on him since he is an illegal from Mexico.  The story only gets better, and it sickens me that in some instances the system rips kids away from parents who are working and trying and women like her get so many chances and do nothing.  I know if they go back to mom they will end up in custody again or worse.  The sad part is, they will have to be hurt again to end up in custody.  There is such a lack of common sense judgement.

Jun. 13, 2008 at 8:24 AM This is really sick! How are earth can you take someones child from them over possible physical neglet. That haven't even given this mother a chance to be a mother. I so agree with you nbell70. There are children out there going through physical and mental neglect and being abused all the time and they do nothing, but when it comes to a healthy child with a great family they take them. This society is so screwed up.

OK so IF this mother is a DRUG addict or has in the past abused her children you ladies think she has the right to do it to another child.. I agree with the state, IF they have cause for this....Mother admits she has had problems  of course she is not going to say that she still does.

could turn into another mother killing her child situation then all you ladies would be bitchin as to why the state didn't do anything.

Jun. 13, 2008 at 9:22 AM Aweful. Terrifying. Makes me sick. There are kids living in multimillion dollar homes right now being abused. Who's helping them? Nobody cause their parents can afford to fight. Absolutely sickening
