Absolutely the most discusting thing ever. It appals me that states would FORCE children into state's custody and in to foster care and then into adoption. The second video is what got me all fired up. That the state of Kentucky is forcing adoptions, falsifying paperwork....all of this to get more federal money!! This is so disturbing to me. Don't force these poor innocent children into this.
I was a ward of the state when I was 5 years old. I was rightfully taken away from my parents though, as they really were unfit parents. I was a ward of the state for 6 months and in that 6 month time span I was placed in 3 different foster homes. The first was more of a group home and I was there barely but a month. The second was out in the boondocks with the trashiest family ever. They had a little girl of their own who helped herself to MY belongings and when I left there I left with the clothing on my back and a hell lot of bruises and a broken arm. The third family that I was placed with ended up adopting me. Nice family, already had a little boy my age and everything was honky-dorey until I turned 12 and that's when the abuse began. Turns out that this sick monster who called himself my daddy, literally LOVED little girls. The rape, the abuse (both emotional and physical) all continued until I was 18 years old, graduated from HS and left home. This is what I endured because of our screwed up society and to think that they are forcing children into these situations is the worst thing ever.
I have sense been reunited with my birth family. I started searching for my mother and found her 3 years ago. I have come to know the truth about everything back then regarding the circumstances to my being adopted. Yes, she was a druggie and yes she did lose custody of me...however, family was NEVER given the opportunity to take me. No one found out that I was taken away until it was too late. The "great state of Texas" never talked to family, never tried to place me with a relative. Instead they threw me to the wolves and quickly adopted me out, to be done with me.
(My mother now is an accomplished woman. She completed college and has a respectable job which she has been with for 10 years. She has furthered her education and is working on her Master's Degree. She is my children's Grandmother. We are in the process of un-doing the adoption process so that I can take my father's name as my maiden name. And so that God forbid anything were to happen to me or my husband, my adoptive family will have no legal grounds for having access to my children since legally, I will no longer be their daughter!!)
Honestly, I can't get all bent out of shape about this without knowing ALL the facts.... This is all very one sided, and the commentator sounds like one of those sensationalism people who is just in it for the publicity. I'd be very surprised if the state didn't have some reason for what they did, and that's not being addressed at all. They don't just randomly take kids just because the parents are poor...
As for the CPS lady being a "bitch", like one of the PP said, I think she was actually pretty polite. She just stated what she was there for, and that they had a legal right to do so.
I'm sure there's a lot more to this story that this video doesn't show.
wow, i cried from the first video. anonymous....is that alex jones' voice?
i live in austin. 100 children a month taken from my area???!!!! they kept saying "her past" . what's her past? plus they took her other one at 2 days also (the husband said in the hospital room) . somethings missing
We don't know the whole situation, so we shouldn't judge (1st video). That 2nd video is just messed up!! WTF?!?
The fact that CPS can come in and take your kid(s) w/out a signed order of protection and/or warrant scares me. I live where that Mom does (Austin, TX), so that one really hits close to home for me. Seeing that video and the FLDS case before this is very, very disturbing... and makes me fear for my child.
All that stuff the guy (name?) was quoting out of the social workers' book sounds just like Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (if you haven't read it, there is a synopsis on Wikipedia.com).
Someone from within needs to step up down here in TX and stop the BS!!

Does anyone know the history of this mom and what has happened with her other children?
This is so so sad.
