They Grow Up So Fast!

I'm not one to get all mushy about my kids growing up.  I enjoy each stage and actually look forward to experiencing how they will grow & mature. 

This morning was Donuts for Dad at preschool.  DH takes the youngest two and I take oldest DS to SIL.  We were out of the house 1/2hr earlier than usual so I took DS #1 to Hardee's for breakfast.  The original thought was drivethru but we had extra time so we had a nice sit down breakfast together.  It was so much fun to have the one on one time with him.  He's really a good young man at only 6yrs of age.  I wish we could do that once a week but I think until school starts, we'll try to it at least a few more times. 

It made me realize that yes, he really is growing up and kind of moving away from Mommy.  He's getting more independent.  He even wakes up to an alarm now instead of Mommy's hugs and snuggles (another sign of independence).   I was grateful that when I dropped him off at SIL that I still got my hug and kiss.  I hope he doesn't give those up too soon!!!!
