I got up this morning and decided today was going to be the day that I was going to go get my hair cut. Mind you, my hair is all-one-length and down to my waist. Its been a while since Ive had a style. My babies are getting to be old enough that I have a bit more time to be able to primp and such so Ive been thinking about making a change. Well, today I just decided to go for it!
I called my old stylist (whom I havent seen in a few years and went to her new location. It's a pretty cool place. Its called Courtyard Salons and its just a big place in a strip mall. But inside are probably 50 10x10 salon booths (complete with walls and doors and their own shampoo stations in each). Its like their own little office. Even have nameplates by the doors!
Anyway, I find her suite and am really just in awe of myself that Im actually doing this. Carla, my stylist, was completely shocked to see my hair so long. But she was really impressed at how healthy it was. She asked me if I wanted to donate it and I said of course! She mentioned that Locks for Love sells their wigs, whereas Wigs For Kids doesnt so we dedided to donate it to them. Its nice to know my 10+ inches that we cut off will go to someone who really needs it.
I took her a few pictures that I liked. I wanted something shoulder length, but versatile. My hair tends to be curly, but I like to wear it straight sometimes too so we opted for a layered look, no bangs. And as Carla talked, she cut. And cut. And cut. Well, lets just say my hair is a little shorter than I wanted it, but I know it will grow fast and in 2 months will look awesome! For now, I like it and really feel much better about my look. Im looking foreward to playing with it and seeing what I can do with it myself. Im just super thrilled to get rid of my Mom 'do.
Here is the new Meg. Please note, its been a long hot day here in Texas and it doesnt look like she styled it. It was more curly this morning, but its still cute, I think.

Comments:
Cute cut! Kudos to you for donating it! My hair stops growing once it gets past my shoulders for some reason; but donating it is something I'd like to do! :)
