A couple of weeks ago I got an email from the CafeMom team inviting me to attend an IMAX screening of Kung Fu Panda on Long Island. I understand the invitation went out to a large group of us active members within certain zip codes.
So I accepted, and yesterday morning I took my daughter and a friend to the event, which was held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. We met at the cafeteria, where we were greeted by some lovely gals from the CafeMom team. Each mom was given a CafeMom t-shirt, tote bag and movie poster. They gave us pizza and had coloring activities for the kids while we waited for the movie to begin.
I got to meet some of my CafeMom friends (and their adorable kids), which was a terrific treat. So cool to put real people together with the screen names!
The theater itself is a kind of a freaky affair. It's a dome with seats in steep, dizzying rows. The movie was shown across the entire top of the dome, so that no matter where you're sitting it's like being in the front row of a theater, only more so. For me it was a bit intense, but the kids loved it. And the movie was adorable. (Jack Black played the voice of the Panda. He can really get on my nerves sometimes, but I liked him in this.)
All in all, it was a great experience and I loved doing something different with the kids on a Saturday. Big huge thanks to CafeMom for their generosity!!!
It sounds like alot of fun! My son saw Kung Fu panda and loved it, Im not much of a Jack Black fan but the movie looks really cute, So glad you had a great time and finally got to meet some Fella CM members.
