I just can't believe it!  We made it through the weekend!

Friday:  Got off work and headed to Des Plaines to the Tiki Terrace.  A luau in the states!  The purpose of this dinner was to celebrate my mother in law's birthday.  Her birthday was Saturday  (14th) but were were doing something else that day so we celebrated her's on Friday.

So, at the Tiki Terrace we met up with about 20 other relatives.  Most of whom were in for Saturday's event as well.  Well, the dinner was great.  Then they had a show.  Of course the audience participates in the show there.  So, nephew Anthony was pulled up on stage and did some hula dancing.  Then it was Anita's (SIL) turn.  Of course, they weren't done yet.  Then Will got picked!  It was so fun.  Will did some hunting dance.

From there we went to the hotel to see others that were coming in from out of town.  Just like a family reunion!  However, it was even better.  The reason... Saturday night we had a birthday bash for Will's grandma.... she's turning 100 this year!  So, that's what we celebrated last night.

It was a great time.  We had karaoke and there were several relatives that sing quiet well.  Of course Will sang several times.  He's so good.  Then there was lots of food, of course.  There has to be with those Italians!

Dancing and music was a must!  Grandma stayed up the whole time.  Kind of funny that she lasted longer than most everyone else.  We called it a night at 1am... only had the room until 1:30am.

Some of the relatives we saw were people we hadn't seen in 18 years at our wedding.  There was a slide show as well.  Of course there was this lovely picture of Will and his nephew Christopher.  Will had his 80's hair... but his hair is so thick and curly it looks terrable long.  So, it was long.  Tony was there as part of the entertainment and when I leaned over to tell him it was Will... he couldn't stop laughing.  Tony's face was so red and he was laughing so hard he was crying!  It was so funny.

Then we begged Will to sing "Shake your Bon Bon".  It worked.  His mom loved it.  He also sang "that's Amore" for his mom.  We had so much fun.

Yes, we got out on the dance floor.  4 out of 5 of our family did!  Tanis was the only one who didn't.  He was bored most of the time.  Anyway, it was such a great time.

One of the cousins even told facts about 100 years ago... 1908!  All sorts of things... like the Chicago Cubs won the world series that year!  Time to break that record now.

Now, if I can stay as healthy as Grandma has in the 100 years she's been around, I would love to see 100!  I can look back at this blog and remember what we did for Will's grandma.  It was worth all the stress of putting it all together ... especially since I didn't have to.  Will's sister Anita did all the set up.  She did an awesome job.

She's 100!
