5 Minute Attention Span!

I am a first time mom and totally clueless when it comes to babies. My son in almost 8 months old and he is WAY spoiled! I can't sit him anywhere for more then a few minutes without him crying for me or different scenery because he's bored already. ALREADY! I suppose this is normal or is my baby just spoiled completely rotten? Should I be worried about nipping this in the butt so early on? It's driving me crazy-I can't get anything done!

Mar. 28, 2007 at 4:30 PM Yeah you should probably start nipping it pretty soon or it'll get worse. When you have something you need to do, sit him in a safe place and give him some toys and don't pick him up or anything else until you're done. When he cries for you or for something else, talk to him and tell him "Not until Mommy's finished." It's pretty normal because he's the only baby and he wants your attention all the time. It's a kinda slow process, but he'll learn to entertain himself if you stick to it.

i have this problem sometimes to my baby is 9 months but i have found certain toys that roll and make lots of different noices whenever you touch buttons totally keep her entertained enough to get things done around the house.  I know my baby is pretty spoiled but i found that when i didnt rush right there anymore she will find something to do while im cleaning... hope this helps
