I've written a couple of fictional stories about a mom and her autistic son, Cooper. You may have already read one of these, "Finding Cooper," which appeared in the back pages of my novel.
A much shorter story, "Alone With Cooper" was reprinted today in SmokeLong Quarterly, an ezine I used to edit.
If a special needs child has touched your life in any way and you have a little time, I hope you'll read the story and the interview that follows. Thanks!
(If flash fiction interests you, click on the SmokeLong home page and sample some of the other stories. This issue has some gorgeous pieces by some of my favorite flash fiction writers.)
I can definitely relate. My son is apraxic, not autistic.. but, the experiences are definitely similar.
Loved it! You need to write a book all about Coopers life one day. I will get in line to buy it!
