Ok, so yesterday Lisa and I went to go get our gowns altered. My SIL's wedding is July12th. We were very excited to go try on our gowns again..... well we get up there and first I try on my shoes and they were toooooooo tight!!!! OMG!!! They were pretty shoes but just didnt fit my feet. NOw let me go back for a second or two...
When I went up to get my fitting for this gown( the 1st time) all the other girls had already gone I was the last one to find time to go . When I got up there it wasnt that the girl that was helping me wasnt nice... it just she wasnt as helpful as I thought she should be. I took another friend up with me, thank goodness cause she was more help than the worker there. anyways, when it came time for me to pick out the shoes all she said to me was these are the shoes most of the girls went with. ok fine, I tried on the floor model , found my size, done. Well, she never told me that I should have gotten a size a little bigger because when they dye them they shrink a bit!! ( IN my case I feel they shrunk alot!!) So I remember my SIL sayin beofre that she didnt care which shoes we got so I picked out another pair that was wide. Lisa never even got her shoes when she went up the last time, She didnt even know all the girls ordered their shoes! So here we both got the same shoe, so at least we will match. :) So we get that all takin care of and then we got into fitting room to get altered, that goes pretty well, I am the biggest girl in the wedding party and wasnt sure if I was gonna feel comfy in my gown when all the other girls are like a size 2!! Plus they are strapless, which I have never worn anything strapless in my life.BUT Im good with the gown looks nice.
The real shocker was when we went to pay for alterations, now let me tell you I needed mine hemmed 1/2 in and I needed it taken in at top ( on the top it only took 6 pins, 3 each side, it took her 1 min to do that, well for the top taken in it cost me $65 BUCKS and the hem it cost $60 BUCKS! Plus I had to pay for them to dye my new shoes that wasnt bad $4 bucks. OH and I was just looking at my reciept now the first pair of shoes I got a discount cause bride got all stuff there well, the 2nd pair of shoes she didnt give me a discount!!!!!! THEN on top of all of that it was ANOTHER $9.60 for TAX!!!!!! WTH???!!! You tax Alteration??!! Never have heard of such a thing. SO $146.85! NOW let me tell you that was MORE than what I paid for the gown!!! This is just so crazy to me! I understand ppl have to make their money but i just feel this is crazy............
