I have to get this out into the air, with every breath I breathe I swear women NEED to have this discussion! Whewww! Ladies, I'm on a roll! lol.
Can we make any honest money from working at home, raising our kids, and cherishing every moment…..we have on the phone, working nonstop attempting to make sales? Making money that doesn’t exist much these days??? If you know how…let me know. Why would I want to work from home, invest money into a business that does not provide profit unless you work at it 24/7 just to keep it afloat? Any business takes time to start up but my goodness!? Why isn't there anything that provides in my pocket, profit, right away? I do not understand!? I choose to work from home because I want to do it with my daughter..But if I'm applying myself to a fabulous business where I have to work nonstop...what’s the point? Why don't I just put my daughter in daycare if I'm going to have to make her play by herself because I'm taking phone calls or I'm in the office constantly? I would actually make money that way instead of wasting valuable time with my family. If I knew that I could work from home without devoting my entire being to that business for a freaking year+ I would love to hear about it! I want to make some money right away, not RETAIL RETAIL RETAIL SALES counted as profit, I am interested in PROFIT..I do not want to hear about how much you have made this year unless it is what you have taken home and spent on gas or groceries. lol. I know that some businesses..ummm hmmm..been there..tell you how much they make and you're like, "WOW"..until you get involved and find out it is their RETAIL SALES..and not what they take home. I was thinking about creating a website for creating letter heads, resumes, other websites, office organizing, anything that people don't have time for in their office, or need advice on..and a few other things. Any ideas? How would I got about any of these things? lol. I would love some suggestions. There has to be some way we can perfect this system by thinking out of the box without having to invest EVERY penny that we have just to stay at home with our kids! My goodness! This makes me so angry that we have these amazing companies that we can work for at home but it takes investing, and staying active just to "thrive" in our business..which pretty much means we have to do it full time. Let’s get creative and come up with something fresh that is actually profitable and actually allows us to stay at home and raise our kids!! Come on ladies!! :) Have a great day! Candice Stapleton

Well, if you want to include the retail profits with what you bring home that is your choice. However, there are home businesses that try to influence you with the verbal presentation of their retail sales. I myself have sat back in astonishment with what some of these ladies have made in, what they tell you, profit. This profit that they share with you, is in fact, retail sales. In most companies, the independent contractors take home only 50% or less of their actual retail sale. When these ladies go to recruit or find new "team members" they tell them how much they've made a year (retail sales)..and not the actual profit that they bring home. Make sense?
Thanks for your post!
This is an amazing post. I have been looking since before my daughter was born. I think the key is to find a business that is kid friendly that can involve them in some way and to never just have one full time but to look for several part time things that you can do. Hope that helps. I have been burned so many times in a lot of the work at home businesses. I would really say that if you have to invest more than about $50....you should stay away from them. It also should be something that everyone can use....like I should have known not to sell those vacation packages
Of course you have to buy a few marketing materials but to invest more than that is that company making money off of you from my own burned experience. I finally found a wahm business that works. I also do other things though.
You can also find something you have a talent for like maybe what you were saying about the resumes. Post your services on craigslist.com or a site like that and see what happens. I design and create custom cakes on the side as well. It is something I love and my dd loves to help me.
I am also ALWAYS looking. I keep an open mind about all types of work at home opportunities because when one fizzles out or doesn't work you have a back-up. Thanks for the post. I am interested to see what other people come up with.
