I am the proud daughter of an openly gay mother. I love her. I have never been ashamed of who she is or what she represents. But today, I saw something I was ashamed of...RIGHT HERE!!! Right here on cafemom I realized how ignorant people are in the name of their god. Teaching hatred of gays is not alright. These women act like teaching hate of the way someone lives their life is wrong. So here's some reality for you:
Heterosexuals have a higher rate of STD's and HIV/AIDS than Lesbians do. If you are using AIDS as "proof" that god hates gays, well Lesbians are the most loved.
Most kids raised by gay parents do not live a homosexual lifestyle.
Get your hair done regularly? Chances are your hairdresser is gay.
What are you thinking teaching your children to hate in a world like ours? Isn't there enough hatred going around with the war in Iraq, hunger, poverty, race, abortion. The list goes on. Hate something legit.

It's so hard to find the right person to share your life with, who am I to say it has to be man & woman. If ANY two people can make it work... more power to them! Don't let anyone's opinion kill your belief in yourself (or your parents). There is no rule book here and nobody has the OK to push their opinions on others. If there is a heaven I think all it takes to get there is a good heart... and that applies to anyone.
