Okay. I just don't get it!  My husband and I both work full time to afford the things we have. We have two precious little boys Frankie & Jayce who go to daycare everyday b/c I have no choice.  I wish everyday I could stay home with them but financially it just isn't possible. The thing is Frankie had surgery a year ago for trigger thumbs. Since then he has the bumps that have been growing on his palm where his thum starts that just keep growing. They have grown to be the size of a marble sticking out of his hand and as hard as one to!  The surgeon who did his surgery basically told me sorry in twenty years I have been doing this I have never seen this and I don't know what it is and can't help you. Since then I have been to many local orthapedic specialist and as soon as they find out he is only three they say I don't know what it is and send us on our way. I went to Arnold Palmer's in Orlando who are supposed to be the best and seen it all and they don't know what it is. They even sent pictures out to other doctors and they all claim they don't know either. I am so frustrated because this is my baby and because of these he doesn't like to ride a bike anymore b/c it hurts him, he doesn't like to color b/c his hands get sore from it rubbing on that bump, he doesn't like to eat with a spoon anymore b/c holding it is almost impossible. Are you really telling me that all these people have really never seen this before or is it just that he is so young they don't want to touch him. I pay a fortune to have health insurance for me and my family. The least they can do is try to figure it out for me!  I guess our next stop is Shriners or Miami Children's hopital.

I am so sorry that you and your son are dealing with this. I think anything to do with our children is difficult to handle. It sounds like you're a strong and persistant mom, and although it may take time (I know how hard it is to be patient) I think you'll find the answers you need. Children's Hospital and Shriner's sound like a great idea, and what about medical schools where they do research.

Good luck, warm thoughts and hugs, and what a lucky boy to have such a great mom!
