I'm so excited we are just 2 months and 1 week away from our Vacation to WDW! This will be not only our first trip to Disney but our first family vacation outside of visiting friends. This is a MUCH needed trip and we hear about it every day from my almost 4 year old :) His Birthday is a little over 3 weeks and he asks more about Disney than his Birthday! :) My Husband (who is also a big kid) is just as excited! I went once at 8 years old but Would like to be there as an adult :)
So those of you who have been to Disney please feel free to share as much Disney Info with me as you can :) We are going during the Free dining Period, 3 different parks and we are staying at Disney :) Share away!!!

My question is which park(s) are you going to?
I won free tix last year. They were one day only park hopper tix. We went to WDW on 6-9. In the morning we went to Animal Kingdom. If you go there, go straight (dont stop...its hard but dont stop!) to the safari ride. It is WELL worth it! There was a rhino so close my daughter could have just stuck her hand out and touch it. Around noon the animals tend to go to sleep so thats why first thing am is best. The park opens at 9 and closes at 6, another reason why we did that first thing for that day. At around3 we went back to our hotel (off wdw property) and rested up then had dinner and then went to Magic Kingdom. Your 3 year old will LOVE Its a Small World. Also the carousel and dumbo ride he may like. Haunted Mansion is not recommended...I didn't think about it and took my 2 year old and he flipped. The first part before getting on the ride is somewhat creepy and he flipped out.
Be prepared for crowds and heat (if yournot used to it). Going in June it wasn't unbearably hot to me...but I live in the south so I am used to it. People say the food is expensive, depends on where you go. Sit down places will be pretty pricey but their stands and whatnot are not bad at all. A bottle of water was 1.25. I pay that here in my hometown! We went to Six Flags over GA 2 years ago and that was horribly expensive, WDW is not bad! Another great thing....take drinks and snacks. That helps cut down on your food cost AND it will keep you plenty hydrated.
Have fun!!!

Get the book "The Un-Official Guide to Disney World." It is by far the best resource out there. There are several websites like www.mousesavers.com.
Wear went year before last and it was AMAZING. The kids and I had never been to FL much less Disney. We did the park hoppers and that was nice because we went to the water parks in the morning when they opened stayed until lunch and then went to one of the main parks.
Have a GREAT time!
