Stay away from Staycations

Have you heard about the Staycation? Give me a break!  Whose brain child is this play on words that really means "no play – just stay home"? Economist and media hounds are promoting “stay at home vacations” to counter high costs of gas, flights, etc… Okay, travel costs are at an all time high. But have you ever stayed home for vacation? You end up cleaning the garage, re-arranging the furniture, creating a Home Depot project from h___, and fighting with the spouse & kids. How does that compete with a Caribbean cruise or a high adrenaline heli ski trip?  The concept of “vacation” is to vacate, to venture to new places, to expand the mind while relaxing away from your every day demands and chores.
