So...as you probably know, my husband graduates bootcamp in about 7 days. It will be the first time I have seen him in over two months. I am beyond excited, I am bouncing like a chihuahua. That's not what this post is about. Last night, I went over to my friends house and we got bored...so I decided to dye my hair. (If you know me, this is not at all out of the norm for me. Keep in mind, not long after I met my husband my hair was various shades of blue, pink, red and purple.) The box I bought said "Lusty Lavender" but two hours later I rinse my hair and "ahhhh!" it is Barney fuschia. Eep. So...now I have fuschia colored hair, which I am really proud of by the way. I go into work, expecting "oohs" and "aaahs" as usual. Maybe a few "Barney" comments, but no. My lovely co-worker decides to lecture me about the fact that I am leaving in a few days for my husband's graduation and it is probably the most important day in his life...we will be taking pictures....yadda yadda yadda. First of all, yes we will be taking pictures. Lot of pictures. Is there somthing about purple hair that disable the shutter of a camera? Not that I know of. So what is the concern there? Maybe she thinks that looking back, I might shake my head at the fact my hair was purple? I don't know. It almost felt like she was insinuating that I am not taking the graduation seriously. I know that may be a jump...but that's how it felt. It really makes me angry...I would like to know why my purple hair is such an issue. It is a color! Actually, it is a beautiful color. Would she have said anything if I wore a fuschia-colored shirt? Or maybe if I painted all my nails fuschia? I doubt it.

I may be over-reacting...but oh well. It really did make me angry. I think she crossed over some lines that I didn't even know about. Now that I have vented, I'm out. Thanks for listening.

Jeez Tiff...what the heck is wrong with you?!  How dare you go and do something like dye your hair a funky color?  I mean, the entire graduation ceremony is going to pause whilst the Army security guards are going to shuffle over to your chair and ask you to quietly leave because you are distracting everyone!  Can't you be a bit more conservative?  Didn't you read the Army Wife Etiquette Handbook?  I mean seriously!

HEHEHEHEHEH...*mwah*...you know I love you.

People that have fear instilled within them never truly live.  Just laugh her reaction off and embrace the day you get to hold him in your arms once more...PURPLE HAIR AND ALL!!!

Lovem...
LoL. I love yo Linda. You know, sadly enough I did read the Army Wife's Etiquette handbook, (or somthing of the sort)...and funny enough I don't recall anything being said about purple hair. I am so emotionally exhausted right now I a feel like I am spiraling downwards. I am trying to get back into the happy and peppy way of things but it's really hard right now. Strange, huh? Of all times when I have nothing but things to be excited about. It's so unlike me. I don't get it.

You wanna change it up really quick?  Go do something nice for yourself the minute you leave that office today.  Chances are you feel that way because the negative remark came from your workplace (right)?

I bet by the weekend, the anticipation will take over and you will then be worrying about what outfit to wear with your new hairdo, the day you two reunite!

I'm glad you could smile a little...and call me a DUH, but are you serious about there really being a handbook or are you pulling my 'blonde moment' chain?  I was totally joking, but I am so gullible you could keep me going on it...lol!

On my way over to MySpace World...

Lovem...

All I can say is THANK GOD ITS FRIDAY. I am so glad to be out of this environment. I told Tracy I am like a sponge and I soak up all the negative energy around here. Cause lets face it...there is no positive energy floating around in this place. As far as the handbook, there are ones that are written by individuals...not really by the "army".  so, no it wasn't a blonde moment.
