Ok I have this idea.. I need some input on it.

My kids love to get into stuff. everything. so I thought if I bought some craft things the kids would love and pick 3 days out of the week we could all sit down and play with them maybe they will learn not to get into everything and learn to take care of  things. is this a stupid thing or do you think it will help them learn? anyone that can answer this I would love it!

I read somewhere about parents putting together a box or container with certain activities/toys in it. This was primarily geared towards having one older child who doesn't take naps, and one younger one who does...putting a few quiet activities together that can ONLY be taken out at "nap time"...but the concept is similar. It can be really simple too...just things you wouldn't want them to have access to all the time, like paper and stickers (you can stock up at the dollar store), big pony beads and yarn (or even cereal and yarn), color wonder books and markers, etc. Since you're aiming for craft time with your kids, invest in elmer's glue, felt, craft sticks, glitter, blunt scissors, glue sticks, card stock, stickers...hold on to old magazines and print out extra pictures of family, pets, etc so they can make collages. You can buy some cheap paints and brushes and pick up really inexpensive unfinished wooden picture frames, trinket boxes, etc at Wal-Mart or a craft store. Ask friends and family to hold onto scraps of yarn and fabric remnants to add to your collection. My kids are 4 and 2 and really getting into these sorts of things...I'm big into crafting but most of my projects are the sort I can't involve the kids in, so they're putting their own craft collections together :)
