Maybe you've noticed the cute barefoot legs on the background of my profile page. Or, maybe not. Either way, it's an important message that needs to get out. Please help me with this one.
Our very own dear Cafe Mommer Elle - ShutterbugMama - is a cancer survivor and is the founder of the Barefoot Sisterhood. This is a non-profit organization created to help educate women about skin cancer - to assist women with screening for skin cancer - to give financial aid to those not insured - to give referrals to those needing them - just simply to do whatever it takes to help this worthy cause.
Please visit her site at http://www.barefootsisterhood.com
If you do nothing else, PLEASE go to this site. And, PLEASE pass the word around.
If you are able, donations are accepted. Volunteers are needed and very much appreciated. The Sister Store is accepting crafted items to sell in the store.
Oooooo! I just found out about this - GRATITUDE you can purchase at the Sister Store: GRATITUDE STONZ
Whatever you are able to do is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE PASS THE WORD AROUND ABOUT THIS WORTHY CAUSE.

And, here's the Wisdom Tip that was in my email this morning. How appropriate is this?

Title: Know your sunscreen for a healthy skin.
Preventing skin cancer is better than treating it. An SPF (sun protection factor) rating 15 – filters 93 percent of UBV (Short-wave rays) SPF- 30 filters 97 percent of UBV and SPF- 50 filters 98 percent of UBV. Also when choosing sunscreen, look for protection against UBV and long-wave UVA rays (there is no SPF-type measurement for UVA protection). Look for sunscreens with avobenzone, oxybenzone, mexoryl, zinc oxide or titanium oxidide as an active ingredient.
Note that sunscreen is best used to protect your skin when you can’t avoid the sun, not to extend your time in the sun, and how well it safeguards depends on how you apply it. 20 to 30 minutes before going outdoors apply 2 tbs or 1 oz to cover your entire body and reapply every 2 hours after swimming or getting sweaty, (even when cloudy) no matter what SPF you use. Extra care should be taken to protect infants and children – excessive sun exposure to the sun during childhood has been liked to high risk of skin cancer.
